‎‎‎A Flower Each Spring Program‎‎‎

Her Highness Sheikha Moza bint Nasser, Chairperson of Qatar Foundation, launched the ‘Flower Each Spring; program in 1999 and included it under her generous sponsorship within Qatar Foundation’s programs.‎‎‎ ‎‎‎In November 2016, the program became part of a series of various initiatives and activities organized by QBG, such as the ‘Fun and Learn’, the ‘Young Botanist’, the ‘Plant Competition’, and the ‘Ghars’ campaign.‎‎‎

‎‎‎‘Flower Every Spring’ is concerned with environmental education, especially wildlife in the State of Qatar, its expansion, and its benefits.‎‎‎ Every year one of the natural plants of Qatar is chosen to be highlighted.‎‎‎ ‎‎‎The ‘Flower Every Spring’ program is consistent with the objectives and directions of QBG in the fields of botany, environmental education, and preservation of environmental and cultural heritage, by spreading knowledge about plants, preserving the environment and biodiversity in the State of Qatar, and supporting Qatar Foundation’s efforts to achieve sustainable development.‎‎‎

The program provides transport assistance for interested individuals to travel to the permanent camp (Flower Every Spring camp in Ras Al-Matbakh in Al-Khor city), which receives visitors for an educational environmental day that combines education and recreation. The program encourages visitors to become protectors of the environment and make more environmentally- conscious decisions.‎‎‎Establishing fixed stations for environmental awareness programs, as well as the Flower Each Spring program, contributes to attracting the public and transforming markets into centers for spreading environmental awareness. These are interactive stations that attract children and adults to environmental activities aimed at instilling concepts of caring for and celebrating nature.‎‎‎

‎‎‎Visitors to our daily permanent station in Ezdan Mall in Al-Gharrafa enjoyed our year-round program activities, as they interacted with the various elements of the program, with the total number of visitors reaching 48,000.‎‎‎ ‎‎‎The program activities catered for all age and social groups, including children, university students, institutions, families, and friends of nature.‎‎‎
