The arboretum of the Qur’anic Botanic Garden is designed to grow all the plants mentioned in the Holy Qur’an, Hadith and Sunnah. It ensures the development of plants by recording the different stages of the plants’ growth and needs e.g. regular growth, irregular disorders, pests management and fertilization rates.
One of main tasks of the QBG arboretum is to conduct experiments to measure variation phenotype difference in due of the Qur’anic Botanical Garden species based on plants quality and morphological types. The planting experiments assist in accommodating more varieties inside QBG; also it helps to verify the best management practices to keep the plant survive under different weather variations. The QBG arboretum is also Securing mother trees for seeds and herbarium collections
The nursery will conduct micro-scale of propagation and germination to all plants mentioned in the Holy Qur’an, Hadith and Sunnah, and will work on indigenous native plants to support the restoration and conservational endeavors of Qur’anic Botanic Garden in Qatar.
The arboretum is utilized as an important education tool for planting and conservational awareness program of the Qur’anic Botanic Garden. It provides good opportunity for kids, students and families to unlock their planting potentials to save our environment.
