Food and Beverage Tools
Dabba is the dry pumpkin, and the Prophet (PBUH) forbade placing drinks in pumpkin pots. It was the custom of the Arabs before Islam to preserve wine in hollow vessels made from the pumpkin pots to speed up fermentation and strength of wine. With the advent of Islam, wine was forbidden, and thus putting drinks in pumpin pots was forbade, so that it would not turn into wine.
Narrated Ali ibn Abi Talib that, the Messenger of Allah (PBUH) forbade preparation of Nabidh in gourd, or varnished jar.
