Qur’anic Botanic Garden’s vision is not limited to cultivating the plants cited in the Holy Qur’an and the Sunnah of the Prophet. Many verses in the Qur’an affirm the Grace of God Almighty in sending rain from the sky and planting trees and gardens. Therefore, in line with noble Islamic objectives, QBG seeks to preserve and sustain all plants and trees, as being the basis of life on the earth.
The organization is therefore striving to enhance the capabilities of society in preserving the sources of our heritage and biological diversity. QBG seeks to link scientific concepts with Islamic culture in support of education and awareness in various environmental fields. This vision promotes a culture of sustainable development in a manner that combines education, entertainment and scientific research with QBG activities to support an integrated management of natural resources and conservation thereof, and to bridge the various stakeholders in education, scientific research, agriculture and Islamic culture in Qatar.
These goals have been demonstrated in an integrated package of unique educational programs comprising the Young Botanist Program, Fun and Learn Educational Program , Food Security Educational Program and other community initiatives such as the daily question contest ‘Mustalah wa Aya’ (term and a verse), ‘Ghars’ planting campaign, and ‘For Every Spring a Flower’. QBG’s programs, events and initiatives aim to promote a culture of agriculture in Qatar’s blessed soil. These efforts and achievements will result in the celebration of the botanical environment and heritage, the care and sustainability of which will benefit future generations.
