Event organised in collaboration with Eid Charity

The Qur’anic Botanic Garden (QBG), member of Qatar Foundation, concluded its ‘Fun & Learn’ summer educational program to primary school students in Qatar as part of its summer activities, which continued during August and September 2016 in collaboration with the women’s branch of Eid Charity.

The ‘Fun & Learn’ summer workshops were held at Hamad bin Khalifa University’s (HBKU) Student Centre in Education City, where over 150 girls of various primary school stages enjoyed a series of engaging activities and educational interactive games such as colouring, puzzles, quizzes and contests that introduced the students to the plant’s life and different age stages starting from the germination through the greenery up till the seed production and then germination again. Students, also, explored some planting activities, which helped them identify the plant’s parts and each part’s role.

The ‘Fun & Learn’ program is aimed at primary school students aged 6 to 11, and has been delivered till now to 20 schools working in Qatar. The ‘Fun & Learn’ initiative highlights the plant life and the environment through providing the scientific information in a very simple and easy way to ensure being understood. The program, also, introduces the children to the importance of agriculture, environment and conservation through submitting a series of fun and interactive activities
QBG is a member of Qatar Foundation for Education, Science and Community Development (QF). Through its educational initiative, QBG aims to encourage student engagement and strengthen agricultural awareness in Qatar, supporting QF’s dedication to sustainable development and environmental responsibility.
