Citation in the Quran:
The word Ar-Rayhan “basil” has been mentioned twice in the Holy Qur’an. Allah the Most Sublime Says: Thus, then, if he be of those Nearest to Allah, (There is for him) Rest and Satisfaction, and a Garden of Delights.” Surat Al- Waqeah, Verses # 88, 89

Originally, basil is native to India and tropical regions in Asia, but now it is considered as a widespread medicinal and aromatic herb.
