Narrated by ‘Aisha; during the last Pilgrimage Hajjat-al-Wada’, I perfumed Allah’s Apostle with Dharira with my own hands, both on his assuming Ihram and after finishing it. Sahih Al Bukhari, book of the dress.

Habitat & Distribution:

Sweet flag “Dharira” grows along the edges of ponds, lakes, and rivers especially at Asia, but it also may grow in arid lands. Dharira is a traditional perfumed powder made from the dried leaves and rhizomes of some plant species e.g. sweet flag.
