Botanical Terms

Gardens are orchards in which fruit trees or ornamental trees are grown, which are cultivated and surrounded by a fence, a wall, or some other means that encircle them. Others define a garden as a plot of land with palms or other trees, or it may be defined as any area that is cultivated, and any fenced orchard; If not, then it is not described as a garden.

Reference in the Quran or Hadith

The word gardens (plural) was mentioned three times in the Holy Qur’an, and it was associated with grapes or intertwining branches or as a feeling of joy and happiness. God Almighty says:‎ “[More precisely], is He [not best] who created the heavens and the earth and sent down for you rain from the sky, causing to grow thereby gardens of joyful beauty which you could not [otherwise] have grown the trees thereof? Is there a deity with Allah? [No], but they are a people who ascribe equals [to Him].” HQ [27: 60]
